Mumias Jamia Mosque Committee through its education bursary scheme programme will extend educational support to students wishing to train as P1 teachers and

those to pursue their universities education. The programme will see students who performed well and scored a mean grade of C+ and above at the Kenya
Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2013 and 2014 and have qualifications for joining universities and Teachers Training colleges receive sponsorship and bursaries for both their universities and colleges education through to completion from Jamia Mosque in Mumias. Speaking in his office in Mumias Sub-county, Chairman Mumias Muslim Community Ismail Muchelule said the move is aimed at supporting bright and needy students from poor backgrounds to further their education and careers and contribute to the improvement of education standards in the Muslim community for social-economic development. Among students to be supported include those who are going for degree course of their choice and have admission letter from their universities of choice and Diploma in teaching at Teachers Training Colleges, the students are required to bring a copy of the letter to Jamia Mosque Mumias offices at Jamia Plaza, Mumias. This may lead to a full scholarship abroad.
