Commission of Kenya invites applications from 20 aspiring Kadhis suitably qualified, experienced and self-motivated candidates with proven track record for the positions in the judiciary. Applicants are required to have a degree in Islamic Law or its equivalent from a recognized university, have the ability to communicate effectively in English, Kiswahili and Arabic and be proficient in computer application. The candidates are also required to have good conduct in accordance with Islamic faith and also possess the qualifications set out in Chapter six (6) of the Constitution on leadership and integrity among other qualifications. JSC/DI/1/2015, the posts up for grabs are 20 and interested applicants may visit: for a detailed job description, requirements for appointment and further instructions on how to apply. Further, applications should reach the Commission by close of business 2nd Tuesday June, 2015. The present Kadhi hierarchy is led by the Chief Kadhi Sheikh Ahmed Hussein Muhdhar who is deputized by Sheikh Rashid Ali Omar who is based in Nairobi. The Chief Kadhi has traditionally been based in Mombasa. Ranked below them are principal Kadhis Sheikh Hassan Omar Sukyan who is the Kadhi of Kisumu and Athuman Abdulhalim Hussein, the Mombasa Kadhi. The structure is also composed of 12 Kadhis who serve as Kadhi I and 20 judiciary officers serving as Kadhi II.
