THE relocation of students and lecturers to Moi University in Uasin Gishu following the unprecedented terror attack that resulted in loss of 148 lives, mainly students, rendered operations

at Garissa University risky and almost impossible. However, considering the overall great loss in higher education development especially in NE should the institution close down due to lack of students and lecturers, the Government needs to act fast to restore the university to its pre-attack state. So far, the internal security ministry and university management have assured teachers, students  and all staff that necessary security measures have been put in place and therefore they can return to the institution and carry on with their studies or duties. It is true, the whole nation still mourns the horrendous act and rescued students and lectures are  still living in fear for their lives, but, let us all unite and make sure terrorists do not force us to abandon make our institutions.
